A Guide to How We Manage Our With-Profits Fund - a short guide designed to explain the most important points of the PPFM (below) as simply as we can.
Principles and Practices of Financial Management (PPFM) - a detailed document explaining how we manage the Pearl with-profits fund and how that affects your policy.
For each of our with-profits funds, we produce an annual report for with-profits policyholders stating whether throughout the previous year we believe we have complied with our obligations relating to the PPFM. Annexed to each report is a separate report from the with-profits actuary. A copy of the report relating to 2009 for the Pearl with-profits fund is available to download below.
During 2009, Self Employed Retirement Plans (SERPs) were invested in the National Provident Life Limited (NPLL) with-profits fund, before transferring to Pearl on 15 February 2010. The report for the NPLL with-profits fund relating to 2009 is available here.

Why have you produced these documents?
It is a requirement from the Financial Services Authority (FSA) that we produce these documents to give all with-profits policyholders a better understanding of how the fund is managed and maintained.
